DESCRIPTION
Are you looking to purchase land and develop a homestead, ecovillage, eco-tourism or permaculture based project? This class is designed for potential land owners and developers who want to know all the legal ins and outs to realize a successful project. The course’s goal is to educate land owners on their rights and responsibilities while empowering them with the knowledge, network, and next steps to work with the existing legal land development framework of Costa Rica.
Facilitated by Sam Kenworthy of Porvenir Design, this two day class is taught by Marisol Hidalgo an environmental engineer with CDG Environmental Advisers and Marcelo Valansi a community developer and advisor for communities such as EcoVilla.
The class will look to directly answers student questions about their goals and properties. Although students should NOT expect to have their particular projects analyzed fully, as the first priority of the class will be moving through all of the below topics.
This class will be taught in both English and Spanish and translated as necessary.

INSTRUCTORS
Marisol Hidalgo is a forest engineer with over ten years experience developing environmental impact studies, forestry management plans, forest inventories, environmental permitting, developing water concessions and more. She currently works for CDG Environmental Advisors helping clients, from large to small, navigate the complexities of legally and successfully developing their dream project.
Marcelo Valansi is an innovative entrepreneur who is dedicated to the design, development and implementing of self-sustaining regenerative projects and communities. Marcelo has extensive experience in developing residential and commercial projects of different scale in several countries, such as Argentina, United States, Panama and Costa Rica. He is interested in how projects can be developed in a new way, where the site is regenerated, creating communities that can have a positive impact and be a model of sustainable development. The last project he developed in Costa Rica and where he currently lives with his two children, Noah and Ilan, is called La Ecovilla.

The class begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday, August 7th, 2021.
COURSE END AND DEPARTURE DATES
The last day of the class is Sunday, August 8th, 2021. Class ends at 4 p.m.
COSTS
The below costs are for the two day class only. These costs do not include lodging or food. Finca Luna Nueva offers both lodging and food options, and there are also many local options in the area.

Class participants can bring their own food if desired or order food at Finca Luna Nueva for meals. Coffee/tea breaks are included within the cost of the course.
